Same-sex Weddings Ceremonies

Same-sex marriage is currently legal in New York, Iowa, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont and the District of Columbia...And, if there is no opposition, by June 7th of 2012 in Washington! Since Gov. Christine Gregoire signed Senate Bill 6239 into law on February 13, 2012. For now, Washington State has an "everything but marriage" law that defines rights of Domestic Partners. Many gay and lesbian couples who are reistered as Domestic Partners choose to make their public affirmations of love with a Wedding, Commitment Ceremony or Civil Union.

Frank Harlanhas long been an advocate of "Marriage Equality" and is passionate about assisting all couples in creating memorable and engaging nuptial celebrations! His contemporary style and experience as a special event producer, make Frank a great resource for any brides or grooms.

"It's not Gay Marriage, it's Marriage. It's not about sexual preference, it's about civil rights."

Closing Thoughts
The Kiss
Declaration of Life Partners
Recessional
Receiving Line

"A ceremony that publicly declares your intent and commitment
is extremely powerful; both socially and emotionally."

Q: Is a Civil Union or Commitment Ceremony a Legally-binding ceremony in Washington?
A: At this point in time, a civil union, commitment ceremony or a wedding is not a legally-binding ceremony, because in Washington it is not a requirement for registered same-sex Domestic Partnerships.

"Whether the state calls it a "Marriage" or not,
you're still having a wedding."

A Message from Frank:
As a Humanist, I have always been an activist on behalf of equal rights for all people, which include the right for same-sex couples to be married and raise families, and adopt children like everyone else. As a Wedding Officiant, I believe that if an LGBT couple's contractual commitment to each other (marriage) is recognized by the state as a Domestic Partnership (at this time), you can still have a wedding; call it a Civil Union or Commitment Ceremony if you want.

I believe that my role is to I assist you making your public declaration of love, honor and fidelity to your partner. This kind of announcement is meant to be celebrated and witnessed by your family and friends. If you are planning to get marriedin the near future, I would like the opportunity to perform your ceremony with you. The time will come when Same-sex marriage in Washington is legal; I'm sure that will be sooner, than later. Two hours north, in Canada, it is. This subject really needs to stop being exploited as a wedge issue by politicians. Feel Free to contact me with any questions. No matter what your budget, please do not hesitate to contact me.

On a final note, I'm excited to say, I will be performing my sister's wedding with her partner in June! Congratulations Riet and Faith!

"Love is Love Marriage Equality."
