Seven Places to host a Small Wedding in Seattle.

As a Wedding Officiant and Ceremony Producer for more than a decade I have had a chance to perform a lot of weddings at a lot of places in and around Seattle and the surrounding communities. With all the hype about big wedding productions, I would say that a majority of Wedding productions have less than 50 guests. So, never think your wedding is too small. An intimate gathering just means that the most important people in your lives are attending your wedding and celebrating with you.

For the DIY Couple, below is a list of seven of my favorite Wedding Venue Spaces and Resources that cater exclusively to smaller wedding productions. Most of these venues provide the space as well as tables and chairs. You provide your family and friends. Some allow you to BYO food and drink as well.
Ceremony Only - Rental for groups of up to 25.
Indoor. Year round, always beautiful.
Rainier Chapter House - Capitol Hill
The Rainier Chapter house (its official name) was designed by Daniel Riggs Huntington, a well-respected Seattle architect, and built in1925 as a replica of George Washington’s beloved Mount Vernon home. No A/C.
Center for Wooden Boats - Lake Union Boathouse Gallery seats 45, open doors to the Deck, add 45 more. Indoor/Outdoor Venue, 4 hour rentals day and evening.
The Great Wheel - Pier 57 Seattle Waterfront (6persons total)Having an elopement on the Great Wheel means limited guests -- usually the two of you, your officiant and 2-3 friends. The ceremony will need be less than10 minutes but, the views are spectacular. And there are so many great places to have lunch or dinner following your wedding. Basically you pay for a ride. Three rotations and you're out. So plan ahead.

Seattle Parks and Recreation - You can rent many of the parks for weddings, elopements and special events. Restrictions apply for the various venues available.
There are a lot of beautiful spaces large and small at neighborhood communities centers around Seattle. These spaces are great for hosting events, lectures and interactive activities. Each space offers its a variety of amenities .e.g., Wi-Fi, Tables & Chairs, kitchen facilities, etc.
